GCN Acquired 501(C)3 Non-Profit Status

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

Alexandria, VA (September 1, 2009) — Global Cooling Network (EIN Number 26-0847016) is proud to announce that it has obtained federal recognition as a tax-exempt nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As a 501(c)(3) organization, Global Cooling Network will be eligible to apply for grants that will strengthen its ability to serve its mission to preserve the forested land in its natural, undeveloped state. All contributions to Global Cooling Network are fully tax-deductible.

Propelled by their “green” mission, Lily and Phill Thomas founded the Global Cooling Network to reflect Innovate!’s, www.innovateteam.com, commitment to our planet. The concept is that people who want to take care of the planet would all like to preserve a million acres of forested land, but most of us don't have the resources to make that happen. If we band together, we can do it. The Global Cooling Network provides the opportunity for those concerned about the environment to help preserve 1,000,000 or more acres of forested land.

We are an all-volunteer organization. All of the money donated goes straight to preserving forested land! We have five members on our Board of Directors: a real estate attorney, a title insurance expert, and three experienced professionals with broad networks of contacts. Additionally, there are volunteers writing federal grant proposals and a web developer.

We look forward to sharing a progress meter that registers the number of acres of land we've purchased and deeded, geospatial images of the land we have purchased and deeded to the organization, and the major corporate partnerships we have developed.
